Build a Roo

Good morning

Well it is going to be a hot one here in Canberra today with an expected high of 37 degrees. It is almost a pleasure to be at work today.

I am very excited to be going to Sydney tomorrow to attend Regional Training with Stampin' Up! Fiona, Coralee, Christine and myself are going and as the training isn't until Saturday, we will have lots of shopping time. We always come home via Ikea which is a great place to find lots of useful things.

Today I am showing a card that I designed and used in one of my Tuesday night classes. It uses the Build a Roo stamp set. This is a great set as there are various images that you can put in the pouch.

Have a great day.

Good morning sunshine

Yes, it has been very warm here in the nation's capital. Temperatures in the thirties over the last few days. Not as hot as Melbourne and Adelaide but quite a change for us as it has been quite cool.

I am holding my first stamp-a-stack tonight. This is a great way to get your Christmas cards done. You make 10 cards of two designs with envelopes for just $20. Future dates are 18, 27 November and 2, 9, 16 December. Contact me to reserve your place.

Today's card is another from one of my downlines, Fiona P. You can see more of Fiona's lovely work at her blog http://www.vineyardstamper.blogspot.com/ . Fiona is building a new craft room which is just about finished. It is so fantastic and you will be able to see some of the work in progress photos on her blog.

Happy stamping

Christmas is coming!

Can you believe it is less than seven weeks to Christmas! I have done a little shopping but really need to get organised now. If you need some help, my gift registry service might be of help. It works just like a wedding registry. Just send me your wishlist and then tell family and friends that they can contact me to choose your present and I will gift wrap as well. Easy for the family/friends and you get something you really want. I also do lovely gift certificates in a decorated holder as well.

The card I am posting today is by another of my downlines, Coralee. I have such talented stampers in my team and am very proud of them all. This card is using the Tree Trimmings Stamp Set from the Sprng Mini Catalogue - don't forget that you only have till the end of the month to purchase from the Sprng Minit Catalogue as the new Summer/Autumn Mini Catalogue starts on 1 December.
Coralee has used Kraft cardstock for the base of the card along with Riding Hood Red and Whisper White. The two silver ornaments and the greeting (from Snow Swirled Stamp Set) have been embossed in silver. It is a bit hard to see in the photo but the background has been stamped using the Soft Holly wheel in Versamark. The card is finished off with some Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain ribbon. I really love this card and how the colours work together.

Must be off to get ready for work now. Have a great day.

Inspired by Nature

I had a workshop this morning at the lovely Marcelle's home. It was such a lovely day we decided to have the workshop outside in the courtyard. It was just perfect and even the children joined in.

Today I am showing a card made by my downline Jenny. She has used the Inspired by Nature stamp set and has coloured the stamp using Stampin' Write Markers. All you need is to huff (technical term for breathing on the stamp) before you stamp as this moistens the ink again.
Jenny too does lovely work and I look forward to sharing more of her cards in the future.

Hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. Carolyn, I hope you are noting my regular posting LOL!

Season of Joy

Good morning

Well the Season of Joy is fast approaching. Can you believe it is only seven weeks to Christmas!

If you need to get your Christmas cards done and can't get it together, why not come along to a Stamp a Stack where you will make 10 Christmas cards with envelopes for just $20. Dates and times are on my website here at http://www.roslynvest.stampinup.net/.

The card I have to show you today was made by my downline, Rachael who is also a talented paper crafter. The set is Season of Joy and it is such a versatile set as although it is primarily a Christmas set, the flower and swirl can be used for other cards. Rachael has used Sahara Sand and Garden Green and has corrugated the piece of cardstock under the ribbon.

Have a lovely day.

New Website

Good morning

It has been a while since my last post but so much has been happening. Firstly I have a new job (temporary transfer for six months with possible permanency). It was quite a big step as I was in my previous job for over seven years but they say a change is as good as a holiday and that is certainly the case.

Secondly, I now have a Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator Website. You can access my website here . Visit the page regularly as all the promotions are updated automatically as they change. All all my events are listed on the website, classes, stamp-a-stacks and special workshops.

Other exciting news is that the new Summer/Autumn Mni Catalogue is on the way. The current Spring Mini Catalogue ends on 30 November 2009 so if there is anything that you want to order you need to do so before the end of the month. This includes the Scallop Oval Punch which may or may not be in the new Idea Book and Catalogue next September. Over the next week, I thought I would show you cards made by the lovely demonstrators who are in my team. This card was made by Alyssa who is a very talented scrapbooker and card maker. Alyssa is good at thinking outside the square and using punches in different ways to get the most value.

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely warm weather.

Let me introduce myself...............

My goodness, it has been so long I thought I might need to introduce myself again! I think I need to hire a blog updater................anyone interested???? There never seems to be enough hours in the day. I work full time, have fortnightly classes, monthly workshops and in home workshops as well as being a wife and mother. I am going to try really hard to keep my blog up to date so just nag me if I lapse at any time.

Here is a photo of the cards and bag we made at my recent Priceless Workshop.

The cards are my design and the bag is a case of one designed by my very creative downline, Fiona Platzer. You can see her amazing creations here.

I will be back soon with details on the Stampin' Up! promotion for this month.

Seaworthy

Here is a card that I cased from the current Idea Book and Catalogue.

Colours are Sage Shadow for the card, Bordering Blue, Whisper White and some Kraft for the quote. The sea was coloured using the Sage Shadow and Bordering Blue Watercolour Crayons and there is some faux stitching on the side. This is a great card for a man and I gave it to our friend Leo for his 60th birthday because he is an avid sailor.
Hope you enjoy the card.
cheers

I'm back...................

My friend, Carolyn, was giving me a hard time today about my neglected blog so I promised her I would post a card. It has just been a hectic time with the Stampin' Up! convention, workshops, classes and stamp camps as well as working full time and looking after my family. Here is a little card I made which would be great for a gift card.

It uses the lovely Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. Here is a picture of the card open.

It is so easy to make. Start with a 15cm square piece of patterned paper (in this case Bella Rose), fold in half and then in half again. This creates the card. With the fold on the bottom and the open ends on the top, fold down the top layer about 2cm from the left hand fold and gently crease. Then fold this bit the other way so that it is inside the two front pieces. Fold the second front piece at the same point and fold inside. Then take a strip of Riding Hood Red cardstock and scallop the edge. Adhere it inside the two front folded pieces and trim the ends level with the patterned paper. Using the cropadile, punch the larger hole in the top left hand corner and tie some white 1/4" grosgrain through the hole. Punch a scallop circle out of Kiwi Kiss Cardstock, a 1&3/8" circle out of Riding Hood Red and stick these together. Then stamp your choice of the greetings from "Think Happy Thoughts" stamp set and punch out with the 1&1/4" punch and adhere to the Riding Hood Red circle. Punch out a 3/4"circle in Kiwi Kiss and put a small flower brad in the centre. Adhere to the white circle and then attach to the front of the card. For the inside, cut a 13cm x 6.5cm piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock, fold in half and adhere to the right hand page of the open card. Stamp up a 5.5cm square piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the stamps out of Pocket Silhouettes and the Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red classic stamp pads. Daub the edge in either Riding Hood Red or Kiwi Kiss. Adhere to the Riding Hood Red cardstock. Cut another square of Whisper White the same size and adhere inside the Riding Hood Red to write your message. You can adhere the two back pages together if you wish. How easy is that!
I will be back tomorrow with another card to show you.

3D items

Good morning all
I wanted to show you a some 3D items I made at a workshop last weekend. I had a lovely morning with Kylie and her lovely friends from work. We made a bag in a box and a sour cream container (although we call them Sunny Boy containers) using the Holiday Treasures designer series papers.

I also wanted to show you some Convention Packs I made for my team members who attended Convention here in Canberra on Friday and Saturday. I decorated notebooks using the new Designer Series Paper, ribbons, lace edge punch and the sticky cut letters and supernova fine glitter. They turned our really well and my girls loved them. Also included in the packs were a large bag of M&M's (a girls gotta have chocolate!) some mints, a pen and a pack of tissues.

We all had a fabulous time at convention and learnt lots of new things that I will be sharing with you over the coming weeks.

Mother's Day Card

This is a card we made at a workshop today. It uses a new stamp set - Fresh Cuts - for the main image and the word stamp is from Occasional Greetings. The only colour used for cardstock, ink and ribbon is Elegant Eggplant. What you can't see from this image is the dazzling diamonds which cover the Crystanthemum flowers. Just the right amount of bling, to set off the card.

We also made an Easter basket with a rabbit made out of punches and the mandatory Easter egg of course! I had a very enjoyable afternoon with lovely ladies, thanks Sue!

I am waiting for my big order from the new catalogue to arrive. I am looking forward to playing with all the new products.

Thanks for stopping by

Bloom Away Cards

These are two cards made from the new stamp set "Bloom Away". The Waratah flower has Crystal Effects all over it which gives it dimension. This was one of the cards from my Tuesday class. The Gum Blossom card I made at Fiona's, one of my downlines, class tonight. Check out her blog at http://www.vineyardstamper.com/. I used the white gel pen to add specks to the gum blossom.
I am so excited that the new catalogue is now available for everyone. You can purchase a catalogue for $10 or $15 with postage to anywhere in Australia. Just email me to purchase.
I put an order in myself yesterday, so I am eagerly awaiting delivery so I can play with all the new products.

Swap

This is one of the lovely cards I received from a swap I was in for a demonstrator group. Diane Shaw made the card and I was so pleased to receive it. Diane has kindly given me permission to post it here for you all to enjoy. She has used the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set which I have had for a long time and this card has made me want to get it out again. Unfortunately the two half pearls beside the flower didn't scan very well but you will get the idea. The colours used are Pink Passion and Pretty in Pink. I really love this card.
